JULIE
LEWIS - OSTEOPATH I was born and bred in South East London and still live
close by today, in the market town of Westerham , Kent . After school, having
achieved A levels and a shorthand and typing qualification, I worked in publishing
and banking, before deciding that I needed to do something different to fulfil
my ambitions. As a result I studied and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Osteopathy
from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in 1998. I now spend three days a
week at the Blackheath Practice, one day in a General Practitioner's (GP) surgery
and also tutor at the ESO. I love my job and get the greatest pleasure from watching
bodies change during and after treatment. I am also constantly amazed at how the
body adapts to trauma/stress and its ability to both cope and heal itself. In
my leisure time I enjoy spending time with my dog (a very fine Bull Mastiff x
Labrador ) and undertaking DIY projects around my home - in an attempt to drag
it out of the 1970's! I also love skiing and take most of my holidays in the winter
months. TOP |

OKSANA
KOZAK - ACUPUNCTURIST My first encounter with the Art of Oriental Healing
was about 10 years ago while I was a student of General Medicine back in the Ukraine
where I come from. I had an opportunity to observe and later to be an apprentice
with a local Ophthalmologist who treated his patients with acupuncture. I witnessed
the great power of needles and dreamt of becoming an Acupuncturist from that time. The
Chinese say, everything happens in a right time - I would add in the right place,
too. My dream came true in 2004 when I obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Traditional
Chinese Medicine specialising in Acupuncture at the University of Westminster
, London . I have been employed by the NHS for the last two years to provide
auricular (ear acupuncture) and body acupuncture to the patients of Substances
Misuse Services. As well as being in private practice I do voluntary work at the
NHS Gateway Clinic. Prior to my professional training in Acupuncture I was practicing
and teaching various types of bodywork privately and for corporate clients. My
greatest joy in life is my little daughter who was born in May 2005. Also I like
learning languages. Apart from my native language (Ukrainian) I am fluent in Russian,
Polish and English. French is my current subject to polish. TOP

GUY
CAPLAN - ACUPUNCTURISTI originally trained to be a mental health nurse
and worked in several community mental health teams in London . My interest in
Acupuncture started when I was studying massage in Thailand . On my return to
the UK I graduated as an Acupuncturist with a Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic Ac)
from the School of Five Element Acupuncture (SOFEA) in May 2002 and as well as
working at the Blackheath Practice also work in another Practice in Camden. As
well as treating patients I'm also the second year co-ordinator and a tutor at
SOFEA. Through all my studies and years of practice I've become more and more
aware that the integration of body, mind and spirit is paramount for our health
and happiness in this stressful and demanding world. When not at work I
enjoy socialising with friends, swimming, yoga and developing green fingers as
I have recently moved and now have a garden to potter in when not working. TOP
